NICHE FOCUS: Psychological Issues from a Biblical Perspective
BIO
Dr. McAvoy is a licensed psychologist living and working in the Western Michigan area. She completed her B.A. in Psychology from Olivet Nazarene University, and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology.
For over twenty years, she has been counseling individuals, families, and couples. Her areas of specialty include mood disorders, anxiety-related issues, relationship difficulties, and perinatal mood disorders.
She enjoys speaking and writing about psychological issues from a biblical perspective and has published three devotionals- Jesus, The Ultimate Therapist: Bringing Hope and Healing; Jesus, The Ultimate Therapist: Healing Without Limits; and Pain as a Starting Point.
Her latest book, Pain as a Starting Point which was released late 2014, explores the problem of suffering from an integrated psychological and spiritual perspective.
