Just Go by Traneisha Y. Jones
'm convinced that many of us are hiding behind Jesus as our reason for not doing the things we have been called to do. We walk around saying, " I'm waiting for the Lord to speak...I'm waiting for the Lord to lead me." And while we most certainly should be led by the Spirit of God, the truth is for many of us God has already spoken and has all but put a flag up saying "go here", " do this". And we're still like, " Is it you Lord?" You know it's Him, stop playing and just go do it. # on assignment # talking to myself too...
A Mission Manifesto by Traneisha Y. Jones
When I was in high school, I remember creating a mission manifesto of sorts; an outline of what I wanted my life to look like, and something that would help guide me in my decision making and keep me focused on the things that really mattered in life. Now that I'm older, a lot of those things have changed.
Though the core of what guides me remains the same, my faith in Christ and His Word, I'm more atune to my purpose and the things I'd like to accomplish as it relates to empowering and enriching the lives of others.
The word manifesto is defined as a public declaration of intentions, opinions, objectives or motives. In other words, it's why you do what you do? What drives you? Why have you decided to devote your time to youth, travel the globe encouraging women, work extensively in the mission fields of India, care for the homeless or grace the pulpit of your local church every Sunday morning? What's driving you? What's your motivation? What's your aim? What do you hope to achieve? Having a manifesto will help you to be clear on your why. It'll help drive you when you feel like giving up, and feel as if the work you are doing is ineffective. Take a look at these sample manifestos created by Professional Life Coach, Author & Speaker Kimber Britner (www.moxieme.com), let them guide you in the development of your own, and help you solidify your why.
